The Black Cap

Bar

This pub opened in 1751 and was initially called the Mother Black Cap after a local legend concerning a witch. In the 50’s the pub became predominantly known for a homosexual clientele, and in the later 20th century it became known for its drag queen cabarets.

The club area plays host to drag and cabaret legends (Lily Savage) and the hottest new club nights in the city.

The Shufflewick Lounge Bar located upstairs is a restaurant and bar all rolled into one, open every day and serving food till late.

There is also a large heated terrace.
